Did you know that almost five percent of the UK is classed as outdoor garden space, which equates to nearly a million hectares, an area three times larger than all of the country's nature reserves combined. Unfortunately, over half of this vital space has been paved over! This is something  we are trying to change in our own little way.

Wood, Water, Earth will design and maintain your garden so it becomes a haven for wildlife, ensuring it functions as a vibrant ecosystem. Our designs harmonise aesthetics with ecological principles, creating spaces that are both beautiful and beneficial. The key to a healthy garden, much like a healthy woodland, is diversity. It should encompass a patchwork of habitats with lots of edge and not be an immaculate, but sterile, monoculture. 

We also recognise that the most important aspect of your garden is its soil, which is why, wherever possible, we try to mulch or chip your green waste and put it back onto the earth. This helps retain moisture, block weeds and slowly add organic material to the soil without the need for pesticides or fertilisers. For the same reason, we try to encourage our clients to have a compost heap or bin in their garden. Similarly, we will always endeavour to reuse old bricks, slabs and stone in the habitats we create rather than send them to the waste dump.
